Juan Guillermo is a lawyer, specializing in Real Estate Law from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana; a master's degree in Government and Public Policy, specializing in Government, Management and Public Affairs; and in Economic Law, from the Universidad Externado. He is an expert in management of public entities, with an emphasis on corporate strategy, contracting, conciliation and closing deals.

He was Secretary General of the Department of Antioquia, District of Medellín, UNE-EPM, EMVARIAS and MinTIC; and Deputy Director of the Presidency of the Republic, among others. He has been a professor of Law, in the field of Obligations and Commercial Law , among others.
