Jaime Arrubla

Jaime Arrubla, founder of the firm, leads the professional team of Arrubla Devis. His experience in the private sector and in high public office has made him one of the country's most distinguished private law attorneys. He is recognized in Colombia and Latin America as a leading authority on commercial law, author of the treatise Contratos Mercantiles, professor at the country's most renowned law schools, arbitrator at the main arbitration centers and a frequent speaker at major conferences.

His career led to his appointment in 2004 as justice of the Supreme Court of Justice, where he served until 2012 and presided over the Court in 2010. At the Supreme Court he wrote landmark rulings on contractual matters and civil liability, among other subjects. He has more than 40 years of experience as a litigator and consultant, advising companies and public entities in the development of their business and the effective exercise of their functions.
