Profile
Rafael is a partner at Arrubla Devis and has been with the firm since 2015. He previously worked as an associate at Posse Herrera Ruiz and VGCD, and as an advisor to the office of the Minister of the Interior. He has particular experience in commercial and corporate law, and in contractual matters, both advisory and litigation. He has taken part in numerous arbitration tribunals, complex litigation and extraordinary appeals. He also advises startups and scale-ups on international corporate structuring, fundraising, investment rounds and due diligence.
He has taught Public International Law at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and in the private law specialization at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. He coached the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, currently teaches Contracts II at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and is a guest professor of shareholder disputes in the commercial law specialization at Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. He is co-author of a book on sovereign immunity of States and of a chapter on State jurisdiction in a treatise on international law.
