Rafael is a partner at Arrubla Devis and has been part of the Firm since 2015. Previously, he worked as an associate at the law firms Posse Herrera Ruiz and VGCD, as well as an advisor to the office of the Minister of the Interior. He has special experience in commercial and corporate law, as well as in contractual matters, both in consulting and litigation. In turn, he has participated in numerous arbitration courts, complex litigation and in the processing of extraordinary appeals. Additionally, he advises startups and scale-ups on international corporate structuring, fundraising , investment rounds and due diligence processes.

He has been a university professor of Public International Law at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and of the Private Law specialization at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. He has served as a coach for the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Competition and is currently a professor of Contracts II at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and a guest professor of Corporate Conflicts in the Commercial Law specialization at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana. He is co-author of the book Sovereign Immunity of States: A Model Made to Measure for Colombia.
